Truffles: Introduction

Truffles is my seven year old rabbit. Yes, he's an old grandpa now! I got him as a baby in 2005 and he's been a darling since. (NOT!) He's quite an intelligent little fellow mind you. He's very stubborn and likes to do things HIS way. That means I can't teach him any commands or anything unlike Latte, my guinea pig. He's absolutely against authority and rules. He prefers to poo and wee in his bowl and expect me to clean it up! But as much as he infuriates me, he'll do anything for some loving attention.

I noticed something about Truffles. He's an odd character with multiple personalities. When I'm too busy to give him attention and clean his "mansion" he'll act all sulky and ignore me. And if I want to take him out of his cage, he won't let me. I think he has psychic powers. He can predict when I come to his cage to take him out and pet him. He knows what i'm thinking and I'm really scared...I think he's a devil of some sort. I'm going to consult my local vet about that theory...

If you clean his cage out regularly (that means every 2 days) and give him 'desserts' every single day, you can expect perfect ettiquette. This means, no pooping in the bowl, no biting the cage and no angry grunts. He'll also be perfectly calm and gentle when you want to pet him. Damn, he really is a manipulater isn't he? Cunning little man :D

Another thing you should know about Truffles. When you clean the cage out for him and put in a fresh supply of hay and bedding. He never likes the way I arrange it for him. He goes into his cage and has to rearrange everything by pushing the hay and bedding with his front two paws. I know it sounds strange but then again, he's a strange rabbit. He also licks himself for 2 hours nonstop after you pet him. He OBVIOUSLY thinks humans are dirty creatures. Huh. You're the one who baths once every two months.

He's not as playful compared to his younger days. He's in his grandpa years now so I think I should leave him to peace and stop bothering him.

Stay in tune for more Truffles!
