It is sad for me to say that Truffles died this afternoon. February 14th 2012.
He was sick yesterday (He had something stuck in his airways) and we were going to take him to our local vet but they were closed. I took him out of his cage this afternoon and was ready to put him in the car to take him to the vet when he began to struggle. Now I realized why. He couldn't breath. He struggled to get out of my grip and finally, he opened his mouth and died. I haven't been able to stop crying.
He was such a brave little rabbit that was an utter charm to be around. He was always with me to brighten my day and I can't tell you the amount of times I sang in front of him before an audition or performance and he'll patiently listen. I use to also tell him my troubles while he crouched down listening to me.
From the first day he arrived as a small bunny. I remember vividly the first time I saw him after returning from grade 3 camp. I knew I would love him. He was bright and bubbly and did all sorts of boyish nonsense. I will never forget the time we shared together Truffles. Having you throughout my childhood was a pleasure and I wouldn't have replaced you with anyone else.
Though you annoyed me sometimes I will never forget those precious memories we've had together. It felt like only yesterday when I was cuddling you in my arms. You were so small.
Truffles, though he may be dead will always be a hero. He has lived over so many trauma's including being chased and pinned down by our neighbours dog. Escaping out of his cage and running into the streets. Developing GI and then recovering super fast but alas, he couldn't go over his last hurdle.
I'm sorry Truffles. I'm sure heaven is awaiting you with your rabbit friends and may it bring to you everything you couldn't have this life.
Thank you for the memories. xxx
RIP Truffles. You deserve it.
May you find happiness in heaven |

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your bunny :(
I'm sure it's in heavan now. Don't worry. Remember when Betsy died two years ago? I was in a lot of pain too...

Wow...hope you're ok now. I'm sure he's in a happier place now. You must have been a good owner though.
ReplyDeleteAwww. poor bunny. It sounds painful the way it died but I'm sure it's in a better place now. but I absolutely agree with Jensen.
ReplyDeleteMy rabbit (Frothball) just died yesterday. She was two years old so I can really relate to your pain. It's heartbreaking when you lose a pet isn't it. You spend so much time with them and when they die, all thats left is the memories.
ReplyDeleteI hope Truffles has a great time in heavan. He's such a gorgeous rabbit.
Love,
Tamara
